Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have started manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to establish assembly lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Situations

These UAVs utilize a domestically developed technology called “Octopus” designed to intercept Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in combat and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing up to 1,000 interceptors daily.

Latest Assault on the Capital Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” after six individuals lost their lives and many others injured in a wave of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. The number two oil producer Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with interested parties concerning its international holdings following last month’s sanctions from Western nations and failure of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “The specific deal will be announced once conclusive negotiations have been reached and required authorizations have been obtained,” the company stated.

Ukrainian President Schedules Visit to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, next Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies disclosed.
