The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and anime.
Escola is joined by a number of fresh additions who will portray the organization to life, featuring leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Although the role is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this represents a major departure in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could signal additional alterations to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
