Renowned Star Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

The actor was seen in multiple episodes of Friends as character Monica's love interest Dr. Roger.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
