Outrage as Renowned South African DJ Shot Dead in the City of Johannesburg.
A renowned South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation battling entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Authorities reported the forty-year-old media personality was accosted by three individuals, with one began shooting at him before running away.
The purpose of the incident is unknown and no arrests are in custody, as per the official statement.
The Fatal Incident
Police said that Stock was attacked as he was leaving a location near the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the building supervising the installation of security systems, which had been illegally inhabited by squatters, it was reported.
"Authorities believe the deceased was confronted by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," an official report confirmed.
Surveillance tape showed a suspect with dreadlocked hair and clad in what resembled a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before running away.
The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but fell down a short distance away.
Police added that Stock had an gun that was not fired and nothing was taken during the assault.
